What is this test?

Blood assay of vitamin D (25-hydroxyvitamin D), the form reflecting the body's reserves. Vitamin D allows calcium absorption and its fixation on bone; its deficiency, widespread even in sunny countries, shows as lasting fatigue and diffuse bone or muscle pain. Often combined with the calcium-phosphorus panel depending on the prescription.
