Home sample collection in Tangier: how it works

A blood test means travelling, usually fasting and early in the morning. That is not always feasible: old age, reduced mobility, recovery after a hospital stay, an infant, or simply being unable to get away. Laboratoire International offers home sample collection in Tangier, on request and subject to our teams' availability.

Who it is for

The service is aimed primarily at situations where travelling is difficult or inadvisable:

• Elderly or reduced-mobility patients
• Patients recovering from illness or in follow-up care
• Regular monitoring of a chronic condition requiring frequent checks
• Young children and infants
• Anyone whose state of health makes travelling uncomfortable

How to arrange it

Home collection is planned in advance: it depends on our phlebotomists' availability and the area to be covered. Contact us or call the laboratory, stating:

• The prescribed tests (have the prescription to hand)
• The exact address and district
• The time slot that would suit you
• Any fasting requirement

We then confirm whether a slot is available. At busy times a delay may be necessary: it is best to plan a few days ahead when the test is not urgent.

Which tests are possible

The vast majority of routine blood tests can be collected at home without difficulty: complete blood count, blood glucose, lipid panel, kidney panel, coagulation panel or thyroid panel.

Some examinations, however, require conditions only the laboratory can guarantee: on-site collection, immediate processing of the sample, or specific equipment. This is the case for the spermogram, among others. We will tell you when you make your request.

How it works

The protocol is identical to the one used at the laboratory, and that is what guarantees a reliable result: single-use equipment, tubes labelled in front of you, then transport under controlled temperature conditions to the laboratory. The tests are then run on the same analysers as for an on-site sample, with the same turnaround times.

Have your prescription ready, along with identification and, where relevant, your previous reports. If the test requires fasting, observe the duration stated on the page for that test.

Getting your results

Your results can be viewed online on our secure portal using the credentials issued to you. They can also be collected at the laboratory on presentation of identification.
