The Beta HCG test: the most reliable pregnancy test
Measurement of Beta-HCG (chorionic gonadotropic hormone) in the blood is the most reliable method to confirm a pregnancy — performed daily at our laboratory in Tangier. Unlike urine tests sold in pharmacies, the blood test is quantitative: it precisely measures the level of the hormone.
When to take the test?
The Beta HCG blood test can detect pregnancy as early as 10 days after fertilization, or approximately 4 days before the expected period. It is earlier and more reliable than urine tests.
How to interpret the results?
- Negative result: level less than 5 IU/L
- Positive result: level greater than 10 IU/L
- In early pregnancy, the rate doubles approximately every 48 hours
